Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay gifted fellow chef Christina Wilson a surprise remodel in her Philadelphia home. This beautiful home features our PLFW 129E.30 wall mount range hood, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!
In 2010, Christina Wilson won season 10 of Hell’s Kitchen. Gordon simply loved her humble attitude and wanted to award her with this beautiful home renovation. Wilson was actually the first contestant on Hell’s Kitchen that Gordon Ramsay employed to work in his own restaurants.
At the time of this remodel, she was working at several of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants as the executive chef.
Houzz has a full video on Christina’s home transformation; check it out below. Gordon Ramsay starts the video with a great quote:
“[Home] is the most important place of our lives,” Ramsay said. “It’s where I can properly relax. Chefs don’t spend that much time at home so when we’re at home, we want to relax, enjoy, and unwind.”
His goal was to transform Christina’s home into this relaxing, comfortable place. It’s truly a beautiful renovation; you can see it for yourself!

To help with the remodel, Ramsay hired Philadelphia designer Matthew Ferrarini to help redesign the living room, dining room, and kitchen.
Christina owns a row home in Philadelphia, which doesn’t have a lot of space. So, it was Matt’s challenge to maximize the space that he has to work with.
“Appliances are going to be very important in this remodel,” Ferrarini said. “We want her to be able to cook and perform at a level that she is used to…so she can really go to town.”
Even with limited space, Matt achieved this with flying colors. Christina is no stranger to professional cooking; after all, she’s an executive chef for Gordon Ramsay.
So there’s no better fit for her than a professional-quality Proline range hood.

We’re proud to say that Gordon Ramsay used our PLFW 129E.30 wall range hood for Christina’s kitchen remodel.
Our PLFW 129E.30 is exceptionally modern and packs a powerful punch at its small size. Here are some of the features below:
The 129E.30 model will be a perfect fit for your 24” range.
One of the most coveted qualities of this hood is its CFM. At 30”, 900 CFM will accommodate nearly any range. Depending on the BTUs of your cooktop, you might be able to install a 30-inch range under this hood.
Simply add up the BTUs of each burner and divide that number by 100 to find the CFM you need.
If this number is under 900 CFM, you’ll have more than enough power to clean your air.
Note: Do not install this hood over a range larger than 30”. It won’t provide your cooktop with enough coverage and unwanted air will escape into your kitchen.

We sell this hood on our site and it’s also available on Houzz, who helped Ramsay throughout the entire remodeling process.
