Need a new way to make potatoes in your kitchen? One of the best methods to make dinner potatoes is with a cast iron pan. These pans, once heated up, can easily sear steaks, fry potatoes, and cook pizzas.

Let’s get started! Print this out or grab a pen and paper to write down the ingredients!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs potatoes, cut into 1 in. cube
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp garlic salt (to taste)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Butter (enough to grease the pan)

Directions

  1. Cut potatoes into 1-inch cubes or wedges so all potatoes are evenly sized.
  2. Heat up your cast iron pan on medium heat on your stovetop.
  3. Take a large bowl, and mix Parmesan cheese, garlic salt, black pepper, minced garlic, and olive oil until even. Add potatoes, toss until evenly coated.
  4. Melt butter onto a cast iron pan until even. Add potatoes to the pan. Let sit for 8-10 minutes and cover with a lid.
  5. Flip potatoes, stir to evenly brown each side; cover with lid. Continue until evenly cooked and fork-tender. The outside should be crusty, inside should be warm, soft to the touch.
  6. Remove from heat and sprinkle with more Parmesan cheese or garlic salt to taste!

Serve With…

When making these potatoes, I often pair them with marinated chicken or barbecued steak. My favorite combination is a good ‘ole steak and potatoes, Midwestern dinner. I enjoy these with some steamed veggies like green beans or broccoli, sometimes seasoned with rosemary! This dinner is tasty and easy to make. Of course, you’re free to make this dinner whichever way you want. There are no wrong pairings!

Enjoy your dinner!
