BOO! It’s that time of year again! While we’re rearing up for winter here in Utah with all this recent snowfall, Halloween is just around the corner. Brisk air, colder temps, and the changing colors are all indicators this fall season is coming to a close with Halloween.

Apple Crates and Boo!

Remember those apple crates you were using for holding lanterns, pumpkins, leaves and more in our fall porch decor article? Well, the first thing you can do is repurpose those apple crates for Halloween! Swap out the lanterns and leaves for boos and screams! 

This Doorway is Driving Us Batty!

While this may take a long time to individually place and position each bat, the payoff here is fantastic. What a beautiful front porch, don’t you agree? You may just have some live bat visitors if you live in the right area….

Skulls in a Jar

Trying to be extra creepy? Grab some skeleton skulls and a clear jar. That’ll surely knock the socks off of your family, and fill your home with just the scaries you need for Halloween spirit. Remember the headstone, too!

Majestic Cornstalks Line the Witches Way

I mean, this is clearly the home of a witch, or a couple witches, right? No one has that many black hats lying around in their attic! My favorite part about this front porch isn’t the cornstalks on the posts or the hanging hats, but rather the jack o’lantern themed planters. This home goes hard for Halloween!

Halloween Lights

Halloween lights are becoming a thing in recent years, and there’s no reason why you can’t start throwing up those lights a little bit early. Grab some pumpkins (or jack-o-lanterns), some tall wheat stalks and a halloween wreath to top off your festive look. 

Jack O’Lantern Fireplace Mantle

Jack o’lanterns outside, and jack o’lanterns inside. This mantle has switched from regular fall to spooky fall with just a few changes. Gone are the leafy garlands and regular pumpkins. 

The Reaper Is Here

Want to get super creepy? This pumpkin clad in black is giving us major Grim Reaper vibes. Just add a scythe to the mix and you’re staring death in the face….well, at least an imitation of death! The shackles make this extra spookie.

A Boo-tiful Porch

Oh, the puns you can make with Halloween. We’re just trying to creep it real with all y’all. Maybe it’s witchful thinking to try and one-up this home, but you can certainly try your best or die trying. But if you’ve got it, haunt it! Okay, sorry, we’re just trying to put you under a spell. You can’t run from my skele-puns!

Jack O’Lanterns Galore 

We all love carving pumpkins, right? So, get into the spirit of Halloween, and a few days before trick-or-treating begins, carve your pumpkins. They’ll look fresh on the night of Halloween, and will be extra scary at night with a candle lit in the center. 

Spooky Mantle

A toned down fireplace mantle may be more your speed. Even without the balloons, this mantle looks awesome. A sitting skeleton, a Halloween themed word board, pumpkins from the rest of fall and some spooky bat streamers are just what we needed. Add a lantern or two with candles or pumpkins inside and you’ll have a complete setup!

Ghosts and Witches and Goblins, Oh My!

A reaper from the trees is not quite your style? No matter! Ghosts are a great alternative, as is a witch that crashed into the tree. Hang these from your porch, trees, or bushes and remember, the more, the merrier (and scarier).

Screaming Scarecrows!

Terrifying, isn’t it? If you want to turn your house into a haunted house, this is a great start. Paired with some wind, rain, and lightning, this scarecrow will sure keep those nosy, pesky kids at bay.

Here Lies….the Dead!

One of the most common decor options for outside the home in New England is old, weathered gravestones. Perhaps it’s because there are cemeteries dating back to the 1600s and 1700s in some towns, but this look is pretty unmatched. With some great ghosts and Jack O’Lanterns to keep these guys company, your house will be Halloween ready.
