There are only five steps to creating this beautiful industrial-inspired mirror. Besides the plywood and pack of mirrors, most of the materials you’ll need you probably already have in the garage or around the house. 

This industrial mirror “hack” or DIY tutorial only has 5 steps and could cost you as little as $50! That’s a $150 saving. The mirror from Wayfair is also quite a bit smaller. But you can adjust your build to suit your needs.

Dining Table 

Dining room tables are expensive, especially if you need to seat more than four people. This beautiful farmhouse country kitchen table can be put together for about $130, the same table from Wayfair costs an astonishing $1,800! 

Even if you’re weary about your DIYing skills the potential savings alone make this DIY worth a try. Plus, large handmade furniture can become a  family heirloom down the line.

Fire Pit

This one is quick and easy, but in my opinion, yields way cooler results. You don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars on a steel firepit. 

Go to your local home improvement store grab a few cut stones, and build something beautiful. Check out the plans for the firepit listed above.

Towel Rack Ladder 

Towel rack ladders won’t help you hang pictures, but they will add an artful vibe to your space. This ladder from Wayfair is rustic and beautiful. But if you want to save 100 bucks or so, the ladder above can be done yourself for cheap!

Foldable Desk 

If you live in an apartment or have an office space that needs to double as a bedroom. There are a few options on Wayfair for folding desks. 

The DIY plan we have above though is a little more stealthy. One minute a painting, the next a tabletop. Dual purposing is always a great idea when space is at a premium.

Wood Planter 

Wood planters are one of the easiest home goods items to DIY. All you need is wood, stain, and nails. There is no need to spend $240 on a planter.

Outdoor Bench 

While Wayfair’s version of a slatted bench is beautiful, $500 is more expensive than the DIY version. The above plan for a modern slatted outdoor bench is easy to follow and could save you hundreds. 

Both versions should prove to be durable. Wood doesn’t get hot in summer weather and the slits allow rain to pass through without pooling.

Outdoor Couch

Similar in structure to the outdoor bench. The plan for this outdoor couch calls for only $50 worth of lumber! (We conservatively adjusted the estimated cost due to rising goods prices).  

A similar styled wooden slatted couch from Wayfair costs, wait for it……4 grand. You could build a set for everyone in the neighborhood with that cash. 

Add floral cushions or keep them naturally colored to pair with the wood for an outdoor couch that will stay fresh all summer long.

Sofa tables have become popular furnishings to fill the gap behind a sofa and wall or railing. They’re a great place to show off accent items, photos, and decore.
